Car Theft - a reminder of a new technique
Monday, December 12, 2011 at 7:10PM A WoW reader sent this in - it may have been on WoW before but it is a warning worth repeating
Warning! Last week, I parked in the car park of Auchan Gramont. As I was leaving I noticed a paper on the rear window.
When I removed (once back at home), I saw it was a gas receipt. Fortunately one of my friends told me not to stop because someone might steal my car ....
This applies to men and women and this technique comes across France. Beware of paper pasted on the back window of your car.
You walk in the parking lot, open your car. You start the engine and when you look out your back window, you notice a piece of paper stuck in the middle.
If you stop and get out of your car to remove the paper the car thief appears out of nowhere. He gets into the car with the engine running and - guess what? I bet your wallet, your purse is still in the car. So, the car thief has your car, your address, your money, your keys. Your home and your identity are undermined.
If you see a piece of paper stuck to the back of your car, lock your car doors, start, drive away and remove the paper later.
