MONTPELLIER Airport for sale in the spring

Montpellier airport to be sold in May?

Opening Montpellier Méditerranée airport to the market - with three other provincial airports, could occur as early as the spring this year, according to Jacques Sabourin, Chief Executive of the Union of French airports (UAF), who leaked the Information.

"The only certainty so far is that the State has undertaken to hold a majority of public ownership until 2013," said the director of Montpellier Mediterranean, Cyril Reboul, who refuses to confirm the date May 2011.

The operation, which will take the form of a tender would cover less than 50% of the equity..

"The commitment of the State is not to privatize, that is to say not to sell 50% stake plus one vote before 2013, says Jean-François Guitard, in charge of airport in the CASA ( Action Committee of airport companies).

It is likely we're heading towards an opening of capital below this threshold by summer 2011, with an option to purchase the remaining shares to be exercised on or after 1 January 2014. "

"A banking consortium could to acquire, but this seems unlikely, says Gabrielle Deloncle, president of the CCIT Montpellier. The most obvious strategic interest is the part of communities. "

The president of Montpellier, Jean-Pierre Moure reiterated at Community Council last Thursday, 10 March 2011 its intention to increase the participation of the Community in the capital of the airport.

Questioned on the subject by Objective Languedoc-Roussillon Robert Navarro, First Vice-President Region, also confirmed the nomination of the Regional Council for such a procedure.

To date, the capital of Montpellier Mediterranean is divided between the State (60%),

the CCIT Montpellier (25%),

the General Council of Hérault (7%),

the Regional Council (6.5%) The Community of communes of the Pays de l'Or (1%)

and Montpellier (0.5%).
